Wow, that's some nice specs on that. Wonder how much different it would be in performance to the i-920.

Is that seriously going in a notebook?

Ask about what they are going to do about AW's M17x. ie If they are going to release a 17incher with Sli 280m or not to compete w/ it.

the 9850 is an 18.4" notebook. I think Vedya is wondering if Sager/clevo are coming out with a 17 inch notebook with sli 280m.

they wouldnt do that... it would destroy their sales because the 2 laptops would compete with each other...

it would just give more options, so long as they are buying a sager it doesnt matter which one, they are still making a profit

I think for Sager, having an Sli 17incher w/ Desktop CPU is much more profitable than the 9850. If someone were to ask me my dream notebook, I would reply the D901c. FTR, I dont understand the point of the D900F. AW is stealing a lot of sales from Sager in the 17 inch market segment.

Yeh they can. Think about it like this, you put resources into both laptops, then people are buying one over the other, completely ignoring one of them, you have just lost money on all the R&D, materials, marketing, sales initiatives, etc. placed on the ignored one.

That's amazing though all that power in a laptop. I'm buying the Dell Studio XPS with basically the same specs, but for content creation, however, I prefer that power in a desktop system rather than a laptop.

yea but everyone is saying that alienware wouldnt give the m17 4870's because they would loose sales hence new m17x.... idk but i would like them to make a 17" WUXGA QX9300 SLI 280's and 2 slots DDR3 ram with 3 hdd slots... and a 18.4" Core i7 Overclockable, 3 Slots DDR3, 3 HDDs, and SLI 280's... i would go for 18.4"

if they had i7 everyone would of bought this. no questions ask. the m17x wouldn't stand a chance. that's why i think instead of making two different laptops, they should of just made one. even though they were on a thermal budget.

it would of been worth going over that budget.

yea... the d900f is pretty good but not great... its not a d901c... they should make d902c for Q9650 overclockable and 280's in sli... being realistic here because they wouldnt do i7 because then everyone would get that and the 9280 would die...
