I recently bought a barebone Puget Systems P170SM-A. Came without cpu or gpu. I purchased a cpu and it works fine on the onboard graphics. Im ready to buy a gpu for it but I am confused about what it takes to find the correct gpu heatsink for whichever gpu I buy.
I dont have alot of money to spend on it but figured I could buy a mid range card for it. Im just baffled about how to find the correct gpu heatsink.
Thanks for the time.

You just have to get thermal pads of various sizes so you can pad it correctly. The heatsink is two parts, one for the GPU and one for the other board components. There is a used one on eBay for $15.00 with free shipping. You will need a fan too if you don't have one.

No I haven't really looked yet. I just assumed the heatisnk would be different for different gpus. Could you link me the one on Ebay in pm please? I just looked and I see one that may be it for 15 bucks but it is coming from Jordan. -
That's the one. Didn't notice you it was from Jordan. Where are you located?

You would want a kit so you could order both card and heatsink at the same time ideally. The 970m is a good option.

What I meant was: do you need the Prema BIOS to get the card to work or is that just so you don't have to use modified inf file to install it. I won't give out Prema BIOS. Just to clarify...
Oh, and if you end up getting a bare card I have a spare heatsink I would let go for cheap.

I would be interested in buying the correct heatsink from you. Especially cheap. -
