This should be helpful to our friends who live in SE Asia. You should contact a moderator or administrator on this forum to have them change your title to Notebook Reseller. This way people will know exactly who you are and the company you represent.

    Hi,

We can ship the product to Singapore. The shipping charges are approximate RM70 to RM100 excluding tax.

    Hi Mr.Mysterious!

Sorry for that, our main market is South East Asia. Resellerratings is not a familiar tool for Malaysian or any other here to determine the quality of the products and services. We will try to register an account there, but I cannot guarantee the number of feedbacks.

We have actually had a decent number of threads for people in Malaysia wanting gaming laptops lately. It's good to finally have a place to recommend for them to buy from!

There are a huge number of engineers from malaysia...

Keep in mind, if your account is changed to Retailer status, you CAN'T post new threads like this one. You can only post in other peoples' threads.

That doesn't seem to be a big deal for the resellers who do post here. It's only fair that a new dealer not be given special consideration in this regard.

I would think that a reseller can act as a company rep on the forums while they may also have a separate personal identity/account.

I agree, it's a really nice website. The only recommendation that I would have i to change the main link from adding a generic version to their cart to a link for customization. I doubt that very many people will ever buy the stock config without changing anything.

Sager notebooks are built in the US at Sager, whereas Clevo notebooks are often built by the retailer. That option would probably be easier for a company in Malaysia, but maybe not!

I think that to get parts directly from clevo the company has buy a minimum of 1000 notebooks a month, which for a starting up company is not easy.

I don't understand why you have this impression. Clevo is a barebone manufacturer, if we sell Clevo, we are selling Clevo barebones. Yes we do sell Clevo barebones.

Sager is built on Clevo barebones.

If a reseller/system integrator build a notebook on Clevo barebones, the notebook is sold under the reseller own trademark.

If you sell Sager notebooks means that: Clevo sells barebone to Sager - Sager sells barebone to you - you sell to consumer. Buying your notebooks from Sager means extra costs for you, like shipping costs and Sager's profit margin, so why not go with Clevo directly?

not necessarily. most of the components are made in china or taiwan. he's a neighbor in malaysia. what you implied is possibly shipping overseas twice, or two middlemen more than likely. he's probably dealing with sager and they're dropshipping his needs in malaysia.

Sounds like you suggest us to develop our own brand. There are many resellers here selling Sager notebooks, why don't you suggest them to import from Clevo directly?

Friend, there is business cycle, once we reach that step, we are no longer notebook reseller, we are notebook manufacturer.

I Think what Blacky means is that instead of becoming Sager reseller why not become Clevo Builder like some of the retailer here eg: Kobalt , Mythlogic , Logical Blue One etc .

Those Clevo builder buys Clevo barebones , assemble it and support the warranty themself , in a way they are mini version of Sager , but they are not notebook manufacturer lol

Also Sager reseller around here most were based in US

They are considered notebook manufacturer as long as they assemble the system and warrant the system.

You will notice that they are selling their own brand although it is built on Clevo barebones.

I think it's a right step in the direction to wanting to develop your own brands. Once the business and customer base is big enough, that would be a good time to transition from Sager to Clevo. This enables bigger margins and higher flexibility.

Yep, but they'd have to get the customer base, first. 1k laptops a month (minimum to order from Clevo) will be tough for a while.

I see, now that makes sense then.
Yeah, 1k units is a bit too much. I mean, if the value of a barebone is around 500-700 USD then you need about $1 million for startup!

theres high demand due to some iMacs using them, and the 485m is only used in clevo notebooks, whereas the 6970m is found in alienware as well as other manufacturer's.

although some of these resellers make you think they will NEVER sell the 6970m, MALIBAL, KOBALT, and now illeGear. They should put them as unavailable if the only problem is availability.
