Hi there,
Today i read about a gt650m SLI graphic bay that is placed in the dvd drive slot. Sadly this is for the Lenovo Ideapad Y500 only. Is there anyone that might know if something similar is in the making for a Clevo W150ERx wich has the same graphic chip? it would be awesome uf something like that would be coming for my W150ER!!
here is the link that shows the Lenovo one: Lenovo LIFESTYLE STORE Nederland | Lenovo® IdeaPad® Y500 SLI Graphic Bay
God this would be huge if i could buy that hehehehe

It requires a special connection that the clevo does not have, sorry.

ah ok, yeah i thought it might need some other connection then a sata connection only. hmmm to bad then. it is a great idea though i think for people not wanting to spend that much on decent graphics. price of that thing for the lenovo is like 169 euro's and according to a few test results i saw on the 3dmark 11 site graphics score went from my 2905 points to 5000! total score went from my 3146 to 4700-4800 it is a different cpu though mine is 3610Qm the one those users have is 3630QM

You need to route the PCI express lanes to the bay and the basic SATA connector is just that and offers 600MB/sec bandwidth to the on board SATA controller so it's not easy to access nor is it high bandwidth.
I would still go for a single 670MX, but the nice thing about the bay is the second fan so no more stress is added to the existing cooling. -
what do you mean by still go for a 670MX, you mean that i could upgrade my 650m chip with that one or whatever?
*edit* nvm hehe no i cant -

No you can't but to someone looking for a new machine might want to consider a single card machine instead.

In my books, a single card is always better than SLI or Crossfire.
Especially if we are talking about twin medium- and below average graphics cards.
Micro stuttering is something that will ruin your day and driver support will be painful as well.
And on battery, two GPUs will be less than fun either. -

Seconding b0b1man, twin GPU setups are hardly necessary right now anyway. The most demanding games can run on ultra as long as you have one of the latest cards, without a hitch (Crysis 3 sees that comment and raises me -10 FPS
).

Well they introduce their own issues, but dual card on the high end has it's place, especially when hooked up to a high resolution (1600P) display, it just makes less sense when there are similarly performing single card options available.
Gt650m sli graphic bay?
