The new Geforce GTX 580 M should come this summer; this is the best timeframe we can provide at the moment.
what do you think guys????

Nothing to be too excited about. I'm sure the 590M or whatever model is next is already in production. I've lost excitement in the technology industry as things are released way too quickly, and the feeling of making a good buy never lasts very long. I'll get excited when something innovative is actually released.

Things definitely do change quickly, although if it is a solid improvement over the 480m like the 560m is over the 460m, I'm in!

about 10% give or take Cryo
As for the 580....
*whistle* ... NDA.... -
Jeeez. I must say I'm a little annoyed with some of the resellers on this forum. Everytime something new is coming, they are sure to let you know that they know more than you, but of course they can't tell us anything because of a NDA.
My point: If you can't share information, why bother telling people that you have it?
We're not children here on NBR, it's not Christmas and you're not Santa.

Yeah, it's going to be 10% faster than the 485M. Nothing to kill yourself over, but it's a welcomed upgrade.
-
The biggest deal will be, how much cheaper it is than the GTX 485M.
-
I've had Google Alerts set to look for "580m", and here's the 2nd hit in a week: MaximumPC
My rant is with Nvidia marketing... the 580m *isn't* ' Next-Gen GTX', it's just a 'point release' within the Fermi generation, and I'll bet that it will squeak out 10% more performance with higher clock rates just like the 560m. Why not be honest and call it 'manufacturing improvements'. -
And again, it was a rant.I'm just tired of reading posts where the sub-text is something like "I know something you don't know *wink* *wink*"

Guess I'll be holding out another month or two for the GTX 580M or HD 6990M in my new P150HM, can't wait!
The GTX 580M is probably what the GTX 485M should have been all along; based on the GF114 instead of the older GF104. Now that the HD 6990M is rumoured to have the full Barts chip (1120 shaders), this promises to be a hot summer indeed!
Hopefully Clevo will use this new GPU refresh to enable graphics switching for better battery life. Why didn't they enable that in the first place? Is there a retailer here that could shed some light on this matter? -
i think 580m stock core will about 675~700 and can oc to 800~850
but iv been seeking for gtx560ti to diy a 580m, but price is no good now even used is about $200....... -

So the sauce is Fudzilla:
-
see the quadro 5010m 4gb gddr5..........maybe 580m finally layout just like 480m & base on gf110 core with 150~200w tdp!
if theres a bios that unlock 480m to 512sp........it will blast out every single card but with a boost of tdp/heat -
I hope NV redesign their PCB layout and use less memory chips.
On 460m/470m they use 12 memory chips while 16 chips on 480m/485m.
Quite bad for memory overclocking. -

Heh
we are always in the tough spot, resellers only know what they are told by builders.
But not all of us are resellers, for example I know of a couple of Builders state side like us in the UK.
We can not divuldge what we know or Nvidia/Clevo will go mental, its as simple as that.
We are doomed if we do, doomed if we dont. -
Is it usual in Taiwan to have reballing equipment?
Gtx 580m coming soon!!!!!!
