I have acquired a old Sager NP8880. It has a version of the fan controller firmware that is not compatable with the system. The current version of the firmware is 3.15.20.

From my research it needs to have the H8 firmware version of 2.15.17 loaded for it to work correctly.

Is there anyone out there with a copy of this firmware version who could send me a copy or if there anyone who knows where I could get a copy of the same, I would greatly appreciate the help.

I have contacted Sager, they referred me Clevo USA, they referred me to Clevo Taiwan. They referred me back to Sager. Talk about the run around.

Would appreciate any help I could get.

This being the clevo 888e, there are 3 versions, is your FCC label in red, green or blue writing?

What are the specs of the notebook?

that will tell us which Clevo D800 version that is.

As for it being a Sager... if the serial # matches a Sager notebook, the Sager support should have helped you be at least emailing you any firmware or BIOS updates when you asked.

Actually the notebook has no serial number, it was rubbed off before I acquired it. It is listed as a NP8880 on the back tag. I don't have it with me right now, but will try to get more info on it.

I tried Sager and Clevo, both tell me that I should refer to the other. Kind of a looping dead end. That's why I am posting here. Was hoping I could get a copy of the firmware from one of you folks

The computer has no serial number. I can give you anything else that is listed on the tag. The serial number has been rubbed off. I will get the specs when I get home, I am at a job site right now.

    OK Gents,

Here is the info you requested.

The fcc sticker print is black. It lists 8880 as the model number.
    I don't think this is a clevo 888E.

Found a sticker under the keyboard on the motherboard, number as follows: NC888T2J00162

    Bios listed as follows:

System Soft Mobile Pro Bios Version 1.01 (2482-00)-(R1.06)

    H8 Version 03.15.20

System Soft PNP Bios Version 1.17.01

    Components are as follows:

    P4 2533 Mhz
    512 Megs DDR 266 Ram
    40 Gig HD
ATI Mobile 7500 Video Card w/64 megs ram
    Built in TV Tuner
Built in MP3 Player on the right of computer
Looks like a fingerprint scanner by the power button (top right of keyboard)
Three other buttons on the top above keyboard:
1 looks like email button, 2 is web, 3 is the letter A

    On the left:

    Infa Red Port
    2 PCMCIA Ports
    Built in Floppy
    CDRW/DVD Rom
Some kind of card reader port

    On the back:

    4 usb PORTS
1 PS2 for both keyboard and mouse
    1 Firewire port
    1 Parallel port
    1 Serial port
    1 RJ 45/NIC
    1 RJ 11/Modem
    1 VGA port
    1 RCA out for antenna
    1 in S video
    1 out S video
    1 Power in port

Keyboard has a Fn function key and a Windows key.

I still think the key to fixing it is to get a copy of the H8 fan control firmware version of 2.15.17 and install it.

Well that didn't work either. Guess it's just a paper weight or parts to sell on ebay. Oh well it didn't cost anything.

Yea I did, thanks but same results. These files are for the 888e, but I have a 8880. They don't seem to be working, but I appreciate the suggestions.

Guess I just have some spare parts for a NP8880 if ya know anybody who needs them. lol
