I found Halo 2 is MUCH better with V-Sync on. Maybe that's just because it runs too fast on my 8800GTS. Go into your NVIDIA settings, find Halo 2, and force it on. See how it runs then. I'm curious.
I got this game a few days ago. I was bummed the latest 2 Xbox Live maps aren't in it, but it has two maps of its own; so I guess it balences out. -
Yeah that does kinda suck.. one thing.. yes V-Sync is a must.. screen tearing was VERY Pronounced.. especually in the intro when your riding on the train and watching the wall break apart as it side scrolls across the screen..

Which video card is in your system?

7950 GTX 512meg.. There is no reason technecally why halo 2 shouldn't be able to run on xp.. as it doesn't even use DX10.. Just microsoft wants to use a name title to push it's Windows Live (similar to xbox live) on Vista which has built in support for the system..and to push Vista sales itself.. but then again. it's really cutting out a larger userbase.. There are people out there working on a solution to making this game run on xp and even a company asking for money on a vaporware product that claims they will make it possible..
Just wait for the community to come up with a solution..
Anyways the card in this laptop runs the game just fine at max detail and 4XFSAA but.. if you want to really have a edge in game just run at max detail with no FSAA or 2x, main reason.. the faster the game runs the more of a advantage you will have in game when things really start going crazy on screen. -

Nice, thanks for the screenshot. In all honesty the game doesn't look very graphically impressive but it beats the Xbox version.

Yeah I know.. the game visually does look well.. sharper and the textures got a increase from 256x256 to 512x512 but thats only to make for the extra resolution you have on a PC screen. When OTHER games are working with megapixel size textures yeah Halo 2 is lacking.. but game play is well.. I have always enjoyed Halo 2 multi player so game play is why I bought it.
The Jump from XBOX HALO1 to HALO1 PC was bigger.. then Halo2 to Halo 2 Vista..
FEAR is fun.. and it's FREE (Multi player).. and is just as fun.. and graphically looks better then Halo2.
