I wish I had heard this kind of thing before I bought my laptop from notebookguru.
I have been bombarding him with mail from different e-mail addresses (if I were to guess I am well over 50 e-mails by now, but I think there's a lot more than that).
I bought the laptop with a Swedish keyboard, but received it with an American keyboard. Not that big of a deal, but the scary thing is when/if something breaks in the laptop and I need to RMA...
Notebookguru have a "trusted shops" seal. Is there any way to report notebookguru to them to get the owner to react and understand that he needs to answer the e-mails? Can't find anything on the trusted shops website.

Bought an M860TU from Notebookguru two years ago. Everything went fine, but I havent had to use their support either. Reading this makes me worried. At least my laptop works though, feel sorry for you :/

You may try to contact trusted shops. If it helps, I don´t know.
In my personal mind, there are only two shops in germany, where you should buy, notebookguru isn´t one of that. Sorry for all who are now worried about. -
Im considering a new Clevo and so far I had three options: Kobalt, Deviltech and Notebookguru (There are two resellers in Sweden, one I dont know if its trustworthy and the other charges a couple of 100 more than everyone else). -
I don´t know if I am allowed to make "commercials". So, @admin delete this if it is not allowed. Then I´ll choose pm.
The only reseller in germany i would trust is mysn and hawkforce (both with .de). Sometimes both are a more expensive, but a few more for best service and support, you should invest.
I don´t know if hawkforce ships to other countries. But ask him. I think his service is the best (also email support at weekends!). Deviltech? It is better than guru, but I wouldn´t order anything from them.
This is my personal mind. Others may think different. -
I wouldn´t trust Hawkfore as well from my experience - though I know there are many satisfied customers...
I ordered a X7200 in february at Hawkforce and got it with 6970m CF - but they were engineering samples. At that time no one other offered them, so I paid a lot more for them than they would have cost me when they were officially launched. They didn´t work well so finally Hawkforce had to change them into "standard" cards, but it was a long way, because first he said that it were non ES cards, until I looked for myself and got proof. I even got in communication with AMD who said that it looked like scam to them!
Second thing was that my X7200 couldn´t start on battery. I talked to Hawkforce and first he said that would be a "known problem" with that model and he could not do anything about it. Since I didn´t read anything about it, I had to threaten him with law to RMA it. Then the motherboard was replaced and everything with it was fine.
But always had to fight for... and the thing with the ES cards was scam. I never had the chance to compare prices with other resellers, because they didn´t sold the 6970m crossfire, because it was not officially released yet. He only could sell them to me because he had ES. He imported from Eurocom, but he was responsible for the deal, I ordered from HIM, not Eurocom. -
Thanks for the info! And surely we must be allowed to give pros, cons and advice about resellers based on experience?

The best thing is that the telephone number on the notebookguru site doesnt even work. You always get the same answering machine tape. Isn't their someway that "Michael Seiler" can be forced to do something?
-
consumer ombudsman?
-
I made a faux order. Notebook guru responded in just one day... That is just wrong.
-
That does not suprise me at all.
Earning money is better than having uncomfortably work to do.
Notebookguru should shame oneself. -
Odd enough I actually received my keyboard today. I don't know if it's because of the threats of contacting the police and "trusted shops", but it got here today.
No word from Michael yet, though. Not a single reply by e-mail, even though I have sent around 20-25 e-mails so far. -
i want to buy some new thermal pads for my 6970m.which one is the best??0,5mm,1 mm or 1.5mm??thx
-
1 mm are fine, usually when you tighten your screws and with the weight of the heatsink, it will press the pads down no matter how thick they are, but 1mm are the middle ground and will be fine. I love how you're using the P151, I really like that notebook's look better than the P150, how are your temps?
