Can anyone direct me to any vendor that sell HD or BlueRay optical drives for the clevo D90x? Ive been looking for 2 days and cannot seem to find any.

I know they exist because Eurocom has an HD DVD option and PCMICROWORKS has a BlueRay option.

    Thanks for any help

ummm.... have you tried to ask the vendors?... rather than trying to look for those drives on the website.

... because you will find out that most (to all) of the vendors can order it for you if they do not have it in stock.... the main reason why these drives are not common on most sites selling these notebooks is that:
    - the HD-DVD & Blu-Ray Drives are very expensive, therefore they would not be in stock most of the time (thats just bad business to lose profit)
    - most people can care less about a HD optical drive... so its unpopular to carry

I personally won't bother with a HDDVD/Blu-Ray drive UNTIL....they have a combo drive like the desktops have and one that also writes.

Give me a CD/DVD+-/HDDVD/Blu-Ray 2x writer and I might be willing to fork out 400+ for it. Otherwise no dice.

I figured this was the case. I plan on using it in conjuction with my 60" DLP TV. I would prefer BluyRay if at all possible. PCM has it on their site for configuration but they want $900 for it.

$900 is way too steep. You can buy a PS3 with Blu-Ray player for $399. The desktop Blu-Ray burners are about $300. The portable versions are just too damn expensive atm.

hehehe..so true..not many people are willing to sacrifice today's technology to get a lic of tomorrow's one..after all we are choosing notebooks only when we can get what we WANT in portable package..and not many people want to sacrifice all of today's standards to get ability for running (but not creating) tomorrow's standards.. ;)

you can get them from a seller on ebay. HD DVD DRIVE for 150 bux, and Bluray for 340 bux. also they have a dual layer BD burner for 500. screw buying from a re-seller.

    ebay item #'s

160188780497 -hd dvd drive 150 bux

    bd burner - 160186275898 500 bux.

    160187368786 -bd drive 350 bux

I have personally bought a HD DVD drive from them and it kicks butt

Those are nice finds dexgo. I wonder if they send the XP/Vista drivers with them? I'll still hold out for a combo unit/burner.

    I have both.

    I'm crazy like that :D

I also have a bd player for my Projector and a HDXA2 ALSO.

if you are just starting out.

    get a HD HDVD.

they are both equal and great.

    it's your prob bud.

I am watching Intervention on a 8 foot SCREEN right now. in 1920x1080 Res. optoma hd81 pj.

I own over 100 blu ray and 100+ hd dvds.

    I like High Def.

there will be no winner the way things are going.

    maybe a few years.

I would just get HD DVD cuz it's only 150 for a drive.

heck you can get a player for like 100 bux now.
