So I now have another variable in my Sager decision making. With the apparent death of my zd8000, I'm considering the 9280 over the 8662 in the event i can put my zd8000 HD in one of the HD bays...

    possible? yes/no?

cool. Thanks Blacky. Last question...striping SSD's for performance (raid 0) overkill?

Primary uses are gaming (Empire Total War, EVE, Supreme Commander, World in Conflict, etc..) ...no crysis...

I'm pretty sure you can't use the zd8000 HDD in a much newer Sager since it uses SATA connectors for its hard drives. zd8000 uses PATA, which doesn't fit. Trust me, I have a zd8000 carcass laying around.

Ah yes Silc is right. It should be using SATA, I assumed it already does as most HDDs do, the HDD I had in my 3 years old dell was using SATA (2006). I don't know about things older than that.
