What happened to the NVIDIA HDMI Audio driver in the W860CU? Before with my M860TU, there was a HDMI Audio Driver installed together with the NVIDIA Display Driver.

Does this mean there is no Audio in the HDMI for this laptop?

hope this is what your looking for.
    taken from the user manual:
Note that the HDMI-Out Port supports video and audio signals to attached external displays
(also see “HDMI Audio Configuration” on page B - 11).HDMI Audio Configuration

    B-11
As HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) carries both audio and video signals you will need to configure the audio output as per the instructions below. The settings will depend upon the video card you have installed in your purchase option.
    Windows Audio Setup for HDMI
    1. Click Start, and click Control Panel (or point to Settings and click Control Panel).
    2. Click Sound (Hardware and Sound).
    3. Click Playback (tab), and click to select Realtek Digital Output.
    4. Click Set Default (button).
    5. Click OK to close the Sound control panel.
    6. You will now be able to hear audio sources when played in Windows Media Player

Thanks! I'm really going to need this myself in a couple of weeks, since I want to reduce the number of wires to plug and unplug all the time.

There should be any problem with running HDMI to my monitor, then using it's line out to run to my speakers should there?

yes there should be no problem.
but when i do this for my home theatre, you will get stereo sound. i think that running the hdmi thru a tv/monitor will convert the audio to stereo.
guys in an htpc forum suggest to run the hdmi cable thru the ht and then connect the ht to the tv/monitor
since you dont have a ht, you will probably be stuck with stereo audio from your speakers

Yup, it's normal that if you plug in the HDMI in a normal TV/Monitor you will just witness Stereo sound, unless you have a multi-speaker setup with your TV.

And I have a HT, I was just asking about the difference between the W860CU and M860TU.
