Im currently shopping for a laptop and one of my considerations is the Sager NP 5793. I would like to be able to play games on my TV but I would like to avoid using S Cables. The 5793 has a dvi port and not HDMI or VGA, and my tv has HDMI and VGA, but no DVI. Can I use a DVI to Hdmi cable or DVI to VGA adapter to hook it them up? And if so is it as simple as that? im kinda a newbie to laptops.

If you use a simple dvi-hdmi adapter, you won't get sound through the hdmi cable, but you can either run it separately if your tv supports audio in when using hdmi, or you can get a dvi+audio->hdmi adapter. Or you can use vga+audio separately.
