I heard that you can use Xbox and PS3 with your laptop if your laptop has HDMI Input, is this true? How does it work? Will I need to buy additional components? Also, which Clevo model currently has this feature? Will be sweet since I am always on the move and do not like a bulky TV.

Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

That is true, you can use any thing that outputs via HDMI. You will need an HDMI in and no Sager/Clevo models have this right now. You can try getting a USB TV Tuner card with a HDMI in and that should work.

Ok so I can buy a Clevo and plug a USB TV Tuner card into it with HDMI in, and any console will be able to connect to it? I dont own a console and havent in the past 5 years lol, but was thinking of. Dont console have like one red one yellow type wire thingy. Thats why I was thinking how those wires plug into the laptop.

Alienware laptops usually have the HDMI input port - this is one big plus with them in my opinion. The USB adapter might be slow depending on the resolution.

PS3 and Xbox have both HDMI or Component out. HDMI is better to use

There are multiple types of outputs for most consoles. The red/white/yellow you're thinking of is the older analog standard that came in "composite" cables (red/white were r/l audio and yellow was video). That standard is basically gone now because it's only low quality analog. Most now have HDMI or component (red/blue/green video red/white audio). HDMI is simplest and there are tuners out there that will let you plug in this one cable (that carries audio and video) and will do input to your laptop. Some tuners have component input as well, but it typically requires an octopus like adapter to plug in all the connections.

Allow me to clarify this. The "one red one yellow type wire thingy" is Composite. I believe it can only support resolutions of 480i. Component looks like Composite except there are 3 video plugs and 2 audio plugs, instaid of 1 video plug and 2 audio plugs. Newer consoles (Xbox 360 and PS3, and the upcoming Wii U) also use HDMI, which can go up to 1080p and has sound in the same cable. Obviously, you want to use the highest resolution your system can support. Now, unfortunately, video inputs on laptops are pretty rare. The only ones I can name off the bat are that the Alienware M17x and M18x have HDMI inputs. As said before, you could buy a TV tuner and probably run HDMI through that. However, because it is not a professional quality device, the signal will lag enough that gaming will be impossible and you will be stuck watching movies. And if that's all you want this for, it would be more effective to just get a blu-ray drive in the laptop. Also, you could just play your games on the laptop (why else would you own one of these  ). Finally, if there is some reason why you must play on a console and you must use the laptop's screen (maybe to record gameplay footage), you could drop $200 on one of these Amazon.com: Blackmagic Design Intensity Shuttle for USB 3.0 Computers, Capture and Playback Professional Quality HDMI and Component Analog Video in Both SD and HD (Requires x58 based computer or better, Windows OS): Electronics or one of these Newegg.com - Hauppauge HD PVR - High Definition Video Recorder 01445
Note that the second one will work on almost any system, but offers slightly worse quality. The first one has superior quality, but is very demanding (I believe that none of the 2011 Clevo's will run it, no matter how souped up, and I am still looking into whether the EM's and the P270WM can run it (If given RAID0). tl;dr no, 2011 Clevo's don't have HDMI input.

EDIT: Arrr, ninja'd by Malibal. BTW, where did you hear that Clevo's had HDMI inputs?

Previous models like the NP8120 did have HDMI in. Clevo makes it "manufacturer select" if you look at the NP9270 it actually has the spot for the HDMI in to go, but its not utilized

Really? That's bogus. Why can't we have that now :(
Probably the same reason there are no more 16:10 screens...

I don't know about the HDMI input, but the reason you don't see much 16:10 anymore is strictly a supply-demand thing. The TV industry churns out a lot of 16:9 panels, and it's driven down the cost on that ratio. 16:10's have just gone up and up because the demand is dropping and production is largely for the 1080p/720p displays. They still exist, they're just quite a bit more money and hence not common in laptops.

I'd personally just like to see higher resolutions than 1080p make it to the mainstream monitor/display market. High end GPU's today just don't make sense unless you have at least two 1080p monitors- where one even higher res would be more convenient.

If I remember correctly one of the previous Clevo's, probably the early x7200, had the HDMI input option on demand for 500$ extra but it felt more like a teaser.

Demand is dropping? Really? Among who, purchasers of shrimpy low-end $300 notebooks? Those people will buy whatever you put before them as long as they can get 3 hours of battery life and a price lower than the other stuff on display. I haven't met a single person who would choose a 16:9 display over a 16:10 display. Also, I don't think the excuse about TV form factor should be allowed, because TV's are not put in laptops. Make the bigger screens 16:9, but keep the smaller ones at 16:10. The only problem with higher resolution screens is that they will cost a ton, and won't be very useful for laptops as 1080p is already pushing it on a 15.6 inch screen. Personally, I'm just going to get a pair of 1200p external displays and use them (I know some really cool ones :D ).

My X7200 has HDMI IN. I bought it from Hawkforce who imported it from Eurocom.
Along with the driver for the HDMI-IN comes a little Media Player called "Gamemate Media Player". If you start it, it shows everything that´s connected at the HDMI IN source. I tried that with my iPhone and it works great, sound and all.
