I just received my 8660, and i'm trying to run hwmonitor. however, every time i start it i immediately get a "hwmonitor has stopped working" message from vista (vista home premium 64) i've tried the 64 bit and the 32bit version.
can anyone help me?
thanks

you must run the program as Administrator (by right clicking on the program) and maybe need to disable UAC (User Account Control)
-
In Vista Home Premium x64, you do not need to run this program as an administrator. But you do need to allow the UAC to run the program. If I were you, I would take a screen capture of your issue and send it to their support: [email protected].

Same here, it can't run. Although the Pro version works. I have the real admin account.

I have version 1.10.0 Driver 129, runs fine on Vista Ultimate 64bit.

-

-
Wow those are great temps!
I wish I could check mine:cry: -
Hey Ikas in raid 0 u can not check your hd's temps. I dont know mine either
-
The 8th series are , however. -
Really.
That explains everything, I wonder why?
Will it work in any RAID configuration? -
Go my 5796 today and the regular Hwmonitor would not work but the pro works just fine...
Vista Home 64bit -
I just received mine and I had exactly the same problem as you.
I'm now using a previous version that works. Version 1.08, if I'm not wrong.
See if you can get hold of previous version and that might fix your problem.
ps: nothing to do with administrator or this pain in the bottom protection thing from Vista. -
hey milcs where did you get the old one from ?
im having problems too -
Same problem here: HWMonitor crashes but HWMonitor Pro works...My solution? Get RivaTuner!
-
Well... HWMonitor Pro works and gives you the exact same thing...
I also use Rivatuner to follow GPU temperatures and clocks (efficient as it allows to monitor for possible downclocking in case of GPU overheating... Which is something that doesn't exist in this laptop). -
hwmonitor pro is only free for 30 days i think... I found a stable version of hwmonitor that works good
-
I noticed this at first, but then realised that it was conflicting with PCWizard08. If I start HWmonitor first, it's fine. (1.08 didn't have this bug though, I could start that version anytime...)
