I thought I had gotten a d901c. Whats the difference between the two? My computer is only about 2 months old so I should have a d901c shouldnt I?

the d900c and the d901c are the same system. They are the same series. Their are only a few differences in the d900 and d901 c systems. they are the motherboard revisions. No matter what revision you get they are all going to be read as a clevo/kapok d900. The d901 was used in the naming scheme for the 45nm cpu support, and quad core support. The model of the actual motherboard is d900, the 1 is just to distinguish the model series to show it supports quad core and 45nm cpus.

I'm afraid you are incorrect there K-TRON, the 1 signifies a different colour, the d900c was blue, the d901c is black. They will both show up as d900c in any software though.

If you look at the clevo guide (stickied in this forum) it explains the numbering system.

So how can I see what I actually have? Its not that old so I assume I have a d901c, but I cant be too sure. Its especially hard since you say that no software will pick it up as d901c.

it makes no difference actually. its just the colour of the mobo inside your computer. mine registers as d900c too.

The difference d900c vice d901c is the color of the CASE, not the mobo, and as far as hardware goes, indistinguishable. The D900c is blue I believe, while the 901c is a black CASE. Look at the outside of the computer, I assume it's black, so you have a 901C. There's no way for the software you're talking about to tell the difference, it has nothing to do with the hardware of the computer, just the color of the CASE. Hopefully I said that enough times there's no confusion... :D

Yep its black. Which makes me wonder, why would you go with a blue case anyway? I think that would look a little odd. Oh well, thanks for your help.

Blue is just the colour it was when they released it, it then went to black along with a few motherboard revisions. I'm pretty sure no one stocks the blue version now.
