    Yes I know it's very old but I just bought a laptop with that card in it it's a
    Hp compaq 8510w mobile workstation with a nvidea fx quadro 570m I've read your guide like ten times and asked a bunch of ppl on other sites but no one helps. Can you please help me do this with my card? I don't understand steps 1,2,3. First I have no idea what drivers I need or the inf and then in step 4 it says to delete the lines in step. 3 but I don't know which lines? The _lines? I'm srry I've been trying to understand this for 3-4 days and just would like some help.

    I would imagine step one means you just need to know the driver version you have or want.

    I don't know that site or nvidia drivers well enough to be much help with step two, but try to find your driver version there and see if they have a downloads page, and download the inf file (inf files are basically support/information files for the driver)

    Then for step three, find the device id of your graphics card (right click my computer, properties, select device manager. find your video card in the device list, right click it, properties, and find the device id in one of those tabs), then find that device ID in the inf file. So basically, your deviceid is example.blah so you are looking for the example.blah in the inf file.

    then carry on with the rest of the instructions. This is the best I can offer until someone swoops in a little more familiar with nvidia cards (a.k.a. a trained monkey or better, I haven't played with nvidia drivers since 1997), but hopefully it's enough to get the wheels turning ;)

    Attaching steps in question:

    Step 1:

    Choose a driver that you wish to make a modded INF for. This tweak cannot be applied universally as INFs are known to change on a driver by driver basis.

    (Note: Trying to utilize an old INF on a newly released driver can cause serious stability issues, so don't do it! You have been warned...)

    Step 2:

    Download the INF from laptopvideo2go.com for the particular driver you're interested in. Ensure you are downloading the appropriate INF for your operating system!

    Step 3:

    Open the INF you selected and go to Edit > Find (Ctrl+F) and search for your graphic card. You should see a single or in some cases several results. I will be using my ThinkPad T61P in this example.

    NVIDIA_G84.DEV_[040C].1 = "NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M"

    Take note of the device ID for your graphic card which is in brackets above.

    Note: If there are multiple results for your graphic card you will need to take note of every device ID for your graphic card. (Unless you are sure which one your specific card uses)

    Just found this, would this work instead?
    "You can also make your GeForce a Quadro. And there is another way to do it; load up Rivatuner, change the bios setting to Custom, set the device ID (I have an 8600, so the Quadro equivalent was FX 570M, ID code 040c) and then uninstall your GeForce/Quadro driver, and reinstall and it will be detected as the opposite."
