Hello all, I recent pre-ordered a NP7280. I have the intention of swapping out the optical bay with a hard drive some time later, once I acquire the necessary hard drives to do so.

My question is, what is the method used by Sager/resellers to put a hard drive in the optical bay slot? If it uses something like the MCE OptiBay, can I purchase this part separately?

You can often purchase these caddy' from your seller, we offer them by themselves if a customer wanted one to install a hard drive of their own. You can also purchase from websites such as NewodeUS.

The NewmodeUS ones come with all the hardware you need to secure the drive in the caddy and to mount the ODD faceplate to the front of the drive for a clean flush look. Just make sure you get the correct interface (SATA).

If your order hasn't shipped yet, contact your reseller and add the ODD Caddy to the bundle ;)
