Has anyone read the x7200's user manual?

So that is that for the rumors of bios overclocking....NOPE

Wanted to see some shots of the cooling :(

I seems like they used a i7 960 CPU for that manual, which has no overclocking capabilities and that is probably the reason why you don't see it in the bios... also they probably don't wanna encourage everyone to overclock or it is up to the reseller to enable overclocking...

the reseller will not be able to enable it...that would be a BIOS level change and I doubt clevo is making a custom bios for each reseller

As for the 960, I would hope they allow blck adjustment and memory adjustment for non extreme procs....enabling overclocking is not suggesting that every customer try it - most will never even look at the settings.

But like I said, I am not hopeful on the overclocking at all - looks like it MIGHT be turbo multipliers only on extreme cpus only (like it already is on the d900f....)

What I meant was that clevo gives different bios versions to resellers, so they can chose if they ship laptops with the one that enables overclocking. This is the current situation, but actually I thought that overclocking with the X7200 would work through the XTU tool... but I heard no news about that.

To most end users the ability of overclocking would not matter though. They simply don't know how to, or they just don't feel like they need to because this notebook is powerful enough to run most applications, unless someone wants to do something crazy like encoding bluray.

And plus the fact that not everyone has the money to throw in an extreme processor in it.

The Sager NP7280 (X7200) is now in stock finishing final testing. We expect to begin shipping next week.

Any word on overclocking capabilities for extreme and non extreme cpus?

I guess we will have to see next week. :D
If I were to guess, I would say no for non extreme cpus and a little for extreme cpus. Power and heat issues.

At least no OC options for 970, temporary.
