    I'm running
    EC/KBC V 1.00.13
    &
    BIOS V 1.01.14

This Mushkin Atlas 120GB drive just isn't showing up! :(

I have tried re-seating it and also removing the standard hard drive.. no dice. Any ideas?

If it's not showing up properly, contact your seller and arrange for a replacement or return. Don't bother with Mushkin RMA, just get a direct replacement or refund from whoever you bought it from. Sounds to me it's faulty.

Also Mushkin Atlas is mSATA and am sure P151HM does not have an mSATA port.

The Atlas is indeed mSATA. Are you sure the P151HM does not have this features? I assumed it was a combo mini-PCI/mSATA port since the bios shows three SATA device slots.. one for the 2.5hd, one for the dvd/cd writer, and a blank one.

How can you say it's faulty if you're not sure if the machine supports mSATA too? Would it report it to the system as an unknown device/etc?

    Thank you

OH CRAP! That third is probably for the ESATA port. Damnit!

    Anybody want to trade? :)

sorry to disappoint buddy, but the free internal mini slot we have in our hm machines is NOT compatible with msata drivers. u can just use it for wwan/3g cards afaik :)

jaybee83 is right, the P151HM1 (NP81XX) do not have a mSATA slot, they are new to the EM series (NP91XX). What you're probably trying to use is a mPCIe slot but that wont support any type of hard drive.

    Bummer,

Well I guess that gives me an excuse to buy a new machine. I like the specs of this one, how easily serviced it is, that it is unbranded (purchased from malibal), and really like that I can find the schematics online, but there are a few things that irritate me enough to not use it frequently:
    1. Keyboard is shifted to the left putting my right palm overtop the trackpad.
    2. Touching area around trackpad indent can cause the mouse to move.
    3. Fans are located on bottom (they get blocked when you put it in your lap... they do keep the machine quite cool however
    4. Keys have cheap feel to them
    5. Thick/Heavy.. and a HUGE POWER BRICK

    And the biggest reason:
    3. The knife-edge front drives me crazy! The machine is tall enough that when I rest my arms on it I get a crease in my skin wich is uncomfortable. Why didn't they round that like the rest of the market does?!

I'll probably go with a lenovo t or w530.. not sure which. I've been using my 6 year old thinkpad consistently even after buying this clevo screamer as it seems to suit my needs better.
