I know that I need to purchase the drive obviously, but what else does replacing the Blu-ray drive entail? Is there a special caddy for the 8130? Where would I get it?

Also, what kind of enclosure would I need to be able to use the replaced Blu-ray drive as an external drive, preferably on just USB power?

    Many thanks in advance!

There isn't a specific caddy to use, any 12.7mm SATA to SATA caddy will work. However, models not sold by the Clevo resellers may not allow you to easily attach the old plastic bezel from the optical drive (so it won't match cosmetically). Functionally though, they're all the same. Resellers/eBay/other retailers should all have them :)

For the external enclosure, you'd be looking for a slimline USB optical drive enclosure with internal SATA interfaces. Most electronics retailers sell them with external enclosures (generally). I've never seen one that doesn't work on just USB power. Some may require two ports though for when you're burning disks.
