Now i got a 5797 with a gtx 280m which uses MXM 2.1 i believe, but a buddy of mine got a W860CU he's looking to sell which has a i7 processor, from what i understand the 860cu supports SLI correct, so i can put in another gtx 280m from my 5797, the thing that bug's me the most is, the fact that i'd be going to a 15.4" inch screen...
the following questions
1)I was wondering is it possible to transfer the motherboard from the w860cu into the 5797 so i can use my 17"inch screen, or is there any other legitimate method to get 17"inch viewing accessibility with the w860cu somehow
2) what mxm cards deos the w860cu use, if i'm going to go 280m sli with my already previous 280m i'd better be sure they use mxm 2.1
3) sli is supported right
basically i'm hoping the w860cu has mxm 2.1 support so i can pull my gtx 280m from my 5797 and use it in sli, the upgrade would be to a i7920m processor as well, but the biggest issue for me is that i'm going from 17" to 15"... anyway possible to get the w860cu board into the 5797 would be great or any other recommendations. Would the boards line up in the casing? i see that being the only issue from doing a transfer.
look forward to the replys.

1. no
2. W860CU uses MXM 3.0b. Your GTX 280M uses MXM III 2.1.
3. SLI is of course not supported.
Thats pretty much crushes your plans -
;(
quick question bit off topic, does the W870CU support sli?
edit: so no way to get 17"inch on it no matter what, modding involved off course. -
The W870CU doesn`t support SLI. There isn`t the physical space for it.
There is no way you can put a W860/870 motherboard in a 5797 or the other way around.
Have a Upgrade question regarding W860CU
