Okay so i am definatly going to order a Sager Notebook in mid july maybe early july. Now i am liking the 2098. I can customize the specs for a great CPU and the GPU looks great. From what i read in the GPU guide the 4650 beats a 7950GTX probably not by much but still thats not bad for a 15 inch laptop. Not the problem is my dad wants me to get the NP8662. I love the GPU in the machine. The problem is the price is a little high. I can customize the cpu in the 2098 to go up to the p8700 and get 4 gigs of ram with Vista. With the NP8662 i can only get the 2.4ghz and the 4 gigs of ram with a great GPU but that might be pushing my budget a little bit. See i am getting a nice job at the shore this summer. I am getting 100 bucks a night to bust tables and i will be working 3 nights a week. The laptop needs to be in my hands by mid july or ate july so that i can mess around with it and get everything going for september when i go back to school. Not to mention my mother will be taking my macbook (since i love her).
So here are some pros and cons
The 2098
PRO:Can get a faster cpu more HDD space and a nice midrange gpu for $300 less. Also LED (since i care about the enviroment)
CON: The gpu maybe a little week and i am not sure about the build quality on the machine. (if anyone can testify for Compal that would be nice)
The Np8662
PRO: Great GPU, with nice screen res.
Con: A bit pricey for me and my time limit for buying the notebook.
I will be doing some animation and making games next semester and also play games like anything Half Life 2, TF2, Portal, and Crysis Maximum edition. I like midrange cards. My alienware had a 6600go and wasnt bad at all. I am not sure about playing games at the max settings wherever i go. So what do you guys think?

4650 get beat bad by the 260....
get the sage you will not regret it.
also in the future you can upgrade it so in the long run it will last longer -
if you are doing 3D game development... you should consider the following specs:
- at least a fast dual core CPU... or even better a quad-core CPU
- at least 4GB of RAM
- at least a high-end (256-bit memory interface) videocard... preferably a pro graphics card like a Quadro
it will depend on your budget as well.... but for people around me that are doing Maya, 3ds, and SolidWorks... they definitely would recommend a high-end card (like Nvidia 9800M/GTX 200M) over a mid-range one (like the ATI 36xx/46xx or Nvidia 96xxM/GT 130).
If are mainly doing 3D work, then a Quadro might be worth it.
If you like to mainly game, then a Geforce is much better for performance and price. -
Well i will definalty be gaming. So i guess its the np8662 then. Its not a bad machine at all.

you allways wanna future proof. You may regret it now but later you will be very happy
