Okay so I just turned on the laptop right now. When I tried playing music, I got no sound. First I thought it was my KVM switch or speakers not working. So I plug my headset directly into the green jack, and I get no sound, so it has to be the sound output on my laptop that's something wrong with?

Currently, I'm using the pink microphone jack to play music, and it works perfectly, but now I can't use my microphone...

    So what gives?

PS: I am sure that all the volume bars etc. are maxed in both Windows audio options and in the Realtek options.

Its been known to stop working in a couple of the 579x series. It sucks but seems to be a common issue. Thats why i went ahead and bought the creative xpress xtreme audio notebook soundcard which makes everything sound 5x better.

yup i fixed 2 of them so far seems to be a bad way of doing the jacks on that mobo in the 570ru.. there is no fix unless you want to dissasemble the whole laptop. mine for whatever reason has never had a single issue but 2 others i know with the same notebook have (ones i fixed).

    Seriously, it's a common issue?

I payed 2200$ for this laptop, and for that kind of money I expect things to be soldered properly to the motherboard. So what I should do now is to return the laptop to Eurocom for a motherboard replacement I guess? And after 2 weeks I'll probably have the exact same problem again, since this issue is common.

So my question is why the hell haven't Clevo fixed this issue with a new motherboard revision? I mean, it's absoultely unacceptable for a $2200-laptop to have these kind of simple issues.

C'mon, Cookie. You knew about the GJOD (green jack of death) already.

Aren't you just a bit disingenuous?

Yes I admit I already knew about it. But the fact that Sager/Clevo does nothing about it really pisses me off.

Hmm, Justin, Donald , anybody? you can at least pass the word to sager , cause if the TU has the same headphone jack, it is prone to the same issues then...
