Hi, the internal speakers work fine and sound even comes from the tv when the hdmi cable is plugged in but sound immediately shuts off when plugging in a headphone or external speaker into the audio jacks. I've tried fiddling with the volume and the default device and looked to see if there was any 'detect front jack' setting in the realtek option manager but didn't find it. Anyone know whats up?

Windows says the audio driver is the latest one.

Have you tried using just the default Windows audio drivers, and uninstalling the Realtek drivers? Also, download the ones from Sagers site, instead of letting the device manager check for them to be up to date.

It started out with the newest driver from windows and I changed it to the one on Sagers site. I finally fixed it by downloading the hotkey program even though it says its for windows 8.1 .

A lot of software is cross compatible between 7, 8 and 10 :) I'm glad it's working for you.
