Does anyone happen to know if the 9262 with no second video card can have or utilize the second slot with an additional heat pipe to keep the machine cooler and from kicking on fans etc more?

I have seen screen shots and it loosk like there is a fair amount of extra space if no second card is added to perhaps have some extra cooling in there.

I have also heard it doesnt run too hot, but it was just an idea to utilize the space and keep fans goign crazy to a minimum, perhaps allowing people to use a lower power mode in a classroom or something.

The empty space is for a 2nd video card. No extra cooling for this area has ever been designed. I've seen people on these forums design all sorts of cooling hacks by crafting out of copper blocks etc, but would be beyond most of us.

If you're talented and skilled enough to craft such hardware, you already know it.

My 5793 is still "in production", but I've owned several other desktop replacement laptops and each of them when under full power has loud fan noise. You want the most powerful laptop on the planet, you have to put up with the fans that keep it from destroying itself with heat.

I realize what I ordered, and I know about the fans etc, apparently you haven't noticed multiple posts about the 9262 being quieter than the 5793 (to which it not even released till the 14th of January officially so of course its still 'in production'), that wasnt the question of how noisy the fans are in it. You yourself said you have seen 'all sorts' of cooling hacks I was curious if there was anyone making them (eg like the small mods Killer Notebooks accomplished but on a larger scale for that extra bay)

I was just curious if anyone had designed or knew of a site (Zalman, Coolermaster etc like site, or even Sager themselves) that had one designed, since the chasis of the 9262 doesnt seem to have changed much in the last few month sand i am sure everyone who bought one didnt put 2 vids in.

Lastly, I know it is for a second video card, I read about what I bought and had the option to buy two of them, I opted for one for now and will possibly get a second later but the reasoning is mine for that. It was merely a question of knowledge, not a need in life lessons on what I bought. But thanks for the solid answer none the less.

I really hope this isnt a typical response to questions asked in here, call me a bit edgy in how I took it but the reply was a bit condescending.

I will ask around and see if any more constructive replies can be found elsewhere. Thank you.

I wasn't trying to be condescending. I've been a huge Sager fanboi for a long time. The hacks I've seen have been things people have done on an individual basis. They've taken it upon themselves to design and build more extensive cooling. I personally know nothing of heatsink design or cooling theory.

It would be nice if Zalaman or another large cooling company would take an interest in Clevo/Sager notebooks, but to my knowledge none have. Killer declines to sell it's heatsinks separately.

Good luck, post on here if you find anything meeting your needs.
