I got my computer yesterday, NP5790. Now it's not reading anything.

Did you by chance install any games on the machine?
-
No, I haven't
-
off topic, but by chance do u remember the date of your order?
-
July 23rd. Did you get orange or white trim?
-
Alright, I was thinking it could be Starforce related, but if you haven't installed any games you should be safe from that.
Hrm...have you tried booting into Safe Mode to see if the CD/DVD shows up? Have you checked your BIOS to see if the drive is showing up there? Etc...? -
Okay my device driver software for my optical drive was not successfully installed.
I've tried updating, but it's already up to date.
I've uninstalled the driver and reinstalled a couple time but get this:
TSSTcorpCD/DVDW TS-L632D ATA Device Failed
Under driver details:
C:\\Windows\SysWOW64\drivers\Afc.sys
Digital Signer: Not digitally signed. -
I figured it out. I shouldn't try and solve problems when I rather be asleep.
It was a Vista Compatibility issue : )
Help!!
