    Hi,

    I recently ordered a Clevo W150HRM (=SAger NP5165)

For the screen, I had the following options:

    Clevo Barebone W150HRM 15.6'' - Optimus GT555M / HD+ 1600x900 non glossy +€ 529,00
    Clevo Barebone W150HRM 15.6'' - Optimus GT555M / FHD 1920x1080 glossy +€ 555,00
    Clevo Barebone W150HRM 15.6'' - Optimus GT555M / FHD 1920x1080 non glossy (takes 1 week) +€ 625,00

I decided to take the FHD non glossy upgrade, (instead of an upgrade for the processor). But as it turns out, this is a glossy screen that gets "special treatment" to remove the glossy layer. (he assured me that the upgrade is not a matte over layer).

I was assuming the upgrade was actually the 95% color gamut screen (v4.0) and that the glossy one was the 60% one.

I asked my reseller this and he told me he doesn't know which screen it is. He says he doesn't get that information from the distributor.

Is there any way that he can find out which screen it is, check the modelnumber somewhere on the screen???

If it's the 60% glossy that gets a special matte treament, then I rather would take the 1600*900 screen and upgrade my cpu ...

If your reseller doesn't know this information, I would suggest you find a new place to purchase. There are plenty of places around Europe you can try.

Check the Clevo Guide thread for more information.

yes, I'm kind of thinking the same. But the shop has gotten a lot of good reviews and it's the only decent clevo laptopshop I can find in Belgium ...

The ones in the guide don't sell clevo's anymore, or the prices are really (ridiculously) high ...

I would prefer buying it from a reseller in Belgium (Flanders) so I can pick it up myself and return it myself when something goes wrong ...

He can either check label on the back panel or hardware ID inside control panel under device manager.

Another option is get the 1600x900 and purchase a v4 yourself

except that they're really hard to find. If you try to buy a B156HW01 V4 from an LCD warehouse, they'll usually ship you a "compatible" model V1/V3 screen, or some LG branded screen, because they're fraudulent like that.

WOW WOW!!!! hang on a minute here. please tell me my eyes are deceiving me but as you are in europe is that price using euro's.

all i can say is !! HOW MUCH.
DOH! ignore the above as its been a very long day
when i first read it i thought you was paying that just for the screen.

tbh i havnt heard of the special treatment trick.
ive had a glossy with the matte film and that didnt work out so it was replaced with the 72% matte 17" screens and they are amazing. so good we are buying more.
if you want matte then buy matte, you wont be disappointed.
