    my NP9262 is running 52-58 C idle.
66 C idle for the GPU.
(there's a verifying process of raid going on the background)

i dunno if it's normal, because the touchpad is blazing hot.

or maybe rmclock is overvolting it as it sets all the 3 multiplier with the same 1.237 V.
    btw, my cpu is Q9550.

im planning to undervolt it, but i dont know the default voltage, so ill just leave it be for now.

    any suggestions?

    thx

really? i remembered from other thread that the normal temp should be below 50C.

    isnt it? lol

below 50 if you have a Zalman NC2000 or another laptop cooler. :D

LOAD temps are the problem. If they go close to 80C that is.
If not, use max fans or something and you`re fine.

    im using zalman nc-2000.
    the temp roams around 55-58.
i tried using fn+1, the temp will go down to 49-51.
    is this healthy?
    or should i undervolt it?
hmm, and does any1 know the stock voltage and a good undervoltage for Q9550?

    thx

Are you sure those are the correct temps.I am using 3 programs and each gives different temperature  . The difference is 10 degrees. Which one is the right one?

i think rmclock will give the correct temp.
btw, can i know ur cpu voltage for all the multiplier?

    thx ^^

@irric: The touchpad's probably hot from one (or more) of your hdds, not from your CPU; I'd check your drive temps if I were you.

Then they must be working just fine; if they weren't, they might cause the touchpad to get hot. ;)

Undervolting is not that scary. Just start at your current voltage at the max multiplier, drop the voltage one increment at a time and test each time for 15-20min with orthos, if it's stable, keep going. Orthos will crash way before windows does. Once you get to that point, bump it back up one and test of 8 hours, if it passes, you're done.

Just be sure to do it somewhere as cool as possible, orthos runs crap hot.

My T5550 load temps went from 72 to 53 after undervolting.

I use Core Temp to monitor CPU temperature, Speedfan for HDD temperature, and Rivatuner to check GPU temperature. I don't use a notebook cooler and my temps are all under 50C idle. Although since it is summer, I keep max fans on constantly.

200gig 7200rpm seagate run hot.....if I knew that ahead of time, I would have gotten something else.

I got my second HDD as a Western Digital Scorpio 320GB, and it runs about 11C cooler than the stock 80GB Fujitsu drive. That may be because I installed it in the battery HDD bay area, but still. It is quite a solid drive, and its load times are equal to that of my desktop's 7200 RPM drives despite being labeled as a 5400 RPM drive.

the problem is, im using RAID-5
everytime i got a blue screen, i have to force shut down, and after that..
guess what, the raid-5 will begin to verify hdd for error, which will slow down my laptop.

    hmmmph... T_T
