    Hi,

as the title says i foolish tried to update my vbios via win flash (i have since learned always do it in dos) but it crashed half way through.

The computer does not display anything - i think someone has completely blind flashed the vbios in a clevo before but i can't find the exact guide- i have a usb stick, ati flash and original vbios - but i don't know how to go about it.

Could someone put me through to a guide or talk me through it!

    A very nervous

So your laptop IS posting, it just doesn't display anything, otherwise how will you blind flash if it doesn't even post?..

i asked him the same thing via PM. would be good to know if his system is even POSTing anymore. could be that the bricked gpu is hindering the system BIOS to properly boot up the laptop... :( in that case, a blind-flash wouldnt be possible anymore!

Sorry to confuse , I think my terminology is off and I am using the word posting wrong - fairly new to all this. It terms of display nothing - no bios or otherwise. The fn +1 starts the fan , the power light is on and the gpu fan and CPU are working gently but other than that nothing . Followed your guide j b but nothing so far. I think I may have to send it back to pc specialist and get them to see if they can sort it .

One question , when preparing the USB bootable dos disk, I was using quick format alongside create bootable format. Would this matter or should it not compared to full format ?

shouldnt matter. can u confirm that windows is booting properly? can u hear any windows start sounds? also, have u tried a manual blind flash yet, without using the .bat file? btw what happens when u try to use the .bat file? does ur laptop restart by itself?

POSTing means that the system BIOS properly loads up and is able to identify all system hardware (ram, hdd, cpu, gpu, etc). this "should" be the case with ur laptop since Fn+1 functionality is given and that is controlled by the system BIOS & EC

I am just wondering if i am missing something simple.

Like , perhaps "Press any Key to Boot from USB" comes up , obviously i cant see it, and am not pressing the right key at the right time to get to the position where you can boot.

Only 2 of the USB ports respond to the USB stick - and when the computer is powered on with the USB stick in these ports - it constantly flashes (the usb stick- implying it is reading the USB stick) and after about 10 mins of waiting (the flashing did not stop) - i aborted as it seems it never made it to the DOS screen (obviously cant say for sure!).

Maybe have one last try this morning as i have a clear head, after a whole day of trying yesterday- and thats when mistakes usually creep in!

Thanks for all your help so far, and if i cant get it working will need to send the card back :)
