    Hi guys,

The situation was as such, when I booted up my com, in less than 10 min, the screen just went blank along with the power, with both light indicators turning amber. I tried all three methods of rebooting, wth adapter, batt and adapter and batt but to no avail. When I tried to power up the laptop, the right light indicator turned green for a sec before going back to amber. A click sound could be heard as well and the BT light indicator lighted up for a sec, located along the power up button with light indicators. The same results happen with all three methods of power up.

2 days have passed and I am still unable to boot up my laptop. The screen just stays black. However just 10 mins ago, when I tried to power up again, the power light stayed on for a while longer and my cd rom light indicator along with my keyboard lights illuminated, just for about 2 sec. But after which, everything revert back to the same, unable to power up with a black screen.

    Please advise.

i had a similar situation 3 weeks ago > HERE

my problem was a dodgy windows update and i had to reinstall operating system 3 times before its running as normal again.

have you tried booting into safe mode F8 on startup.
you could also try your operating disc and try a repair which wont wipe any files.

could you also post your main spec and if youve updated any drivers or software lately. also what antivirus are you running.

    CPU Processor: 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-3610QM Processor
Video & Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 7970M GPU with 2GB GDDR5 Video Memory
Thermal Compound: IC Diamond Thermal Compound - CPU + GPU
    Memory: 16GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1600MHz - 4 X 4GB
    RAID Storage Options: Non-RAID Storage
Primary Hard Disk Drive: 120GB Intel 520 Series SATA3 Solid State Disk Drive

Wireless Network Card: Bigfoot Networks Killer™ Wireless-N 1103 - 802.11A/B/G/N Wireless LAN Module

My laptop is not even able to boot up, thus I can't even access the BIOS or even booting it in safe mode. I've been asking around, do you think that there is a possibility that it is due to the mother board? I just purchased this laptop about 2 weeks back. The only drivers which I updated was the wireless card and graphics. AVG for the antivirus program.

first thing is to shoot of a support ticket to your supplier.
have you got any hardware plugged in using usb. if so remove these and try booting again. was a few people a year back having things plugged in which for some reason stopped windows booting.
did you get a windows 7 disc with your computer? if so put in drive and boot up and it should give you the option for install or repair. hit repair to see if it can sort the problem out.
if not im sorry to say it might need an rma back to your supplier for repair.

anything is possible but i shouldnt think its a fried motherboard unless you overclocked.

edit: other thing to try first is remove the cmos battery first if you can find it inside the lappy. not sure where it is on your model.

Maybe try a BIOS reset? There are posts in these forums that explain how to do that. But basically, you have to unplug laptop power adapter, remove laptop battery, remove the keyboard, unplug the BIOS battery that is accessible once you lift the keyboard, and then press the power button for a few seconds to discharge the BIOS circuitry.

Or a component could not be sitting well in it's socket (RAM, GPU card, Wireless card...).

Otherwise it most likely points to a hardware problem/failure. (It's a lemon, use your warranty)
