    So yesterday, i installed office 2007 on my m860tu which is running xp pro 32 bit. A bunch of windows updates went on (17+) and now the right side of mykeyboard thinks it is a numpad i belive...

    whey i type:

    U = 4
    I = 5
    O = 6
    P = \
    J = 1
    K = 2
    L = 3
    M = 0

    also since the updates my wifi has been acting retarded and lagging huge on games. Anyone have any ideas? i already tried to change they keyboard language etc.

    another little update, i just dumped the keyboard drivers and let it reinstall, still messed up.

    OKAY........... so i normally when at home hook up my laptop to a external keyboard to play games and put the lappy on a cooler. I use Num-Lock for auto run on warhammer online. I was leeting my lappy do updates, so i pulled out the keyboard with Num-Lock left on and my laptop keyboard decided it had a numpad/num lock LOL..... wow i was looseing my mind trying to figure that out.

    lol, I've had that problem before ;)

    Does the keyboard not have the numbers on those keys in a different colour?

    On wifi - try getting the latest intel 5300 wireless card drivers from their website. I think it helped me reduce dropped signals.

    problem solved.
    as mentioned above if you look at your keys the will have small blue numbers on the top right of them keys. if you press your fn & NumLK this will change it back to normal. (NumLK is top row second from right on uk keyboard)

    The driver update for the WiFi helps but I'm still losing my signal few times.

    Alrite, my laptop is sitting ontop of my desk and my desktop is underneath it. Both computers have WiFi. Both of the computers have the exact same ~ download and upload speeds on speed test, however the laptop latency is 100 ms higher.

    Does anyone have any ideas why this is? possibly a setting. I can definitely feel the extra latency when playing online games.

    Thanks!

    What kind of router you got? If its pure wireless G, change your wireless card settings to disable N and wireless transmission to 802.11 g only.

    Also, did you go to Intel's site to get the latest drivers for the card? I don't think windows update has them.

    yes, i downloaded them earlier. Did not help latency. I was having a ton of problems with connection to begin with and disabled the "n". Which helped alot. I will try setting G only. It is a telus high speed internet modem/router.
