Im trying to track down the source of the very annoying humming/rubbing noise coming from the laptop. The noise dissapears if i tilt the laptop far back and it also starts/stops at some angles if i apply pressure to the laptop (by putting my hands on it while typing).

Was wondering if it might be the HDD, does anyone know where the HDD is for this model and how to access it?

    (HDD not SSD).

Edit : Nevermind i found it. Yea its making a loud humming noise, i did a SMART test ( http://www.hddstatus.com/hdrepshowreport.php?ReportCode=8454604&ReportVerification=93CD97B6) and some people on a tech site said the drive was failing because the seek error rate was too high, but SMART itself says its fine?

You can make sure the screws that hold it down are very secure to see if that stops the noise.

S.M.A.R.T is not bullet proof. You may want to run another disk utility (or several utilities) for the most accurate reference. You can try utilities such as CrystalDiskInfo, HDTune, HDDSentinel, etc.
