Hi Kudro,
Plug the machine into an external monitor to rule out a defective card, if you get an image on an external monitor , then you either have a problem with your lcd screen or lcd cable (most probably cable from opening and closing)
Hope this helps -
i havent got the correct conection on the external monitor is a blue crt connection on the monitor an a square one on the laptop. also 1 heatsink screw is missing would this cause it to not start up.
-
The heatsink screw missing indicates that someone has removed the card in the past it might cause you some heating issues I would suggest replacing the screw but it would be irrelevant to not starting up, most probably it is the cable but unless you try it on an external monitor you cannot be certain its the cable, if it is a defective card then it would be a shame to order a cable. All you need to test is a DVI to crt adaptor converter for the monitor

cheers gona go an get one now will post back as soon as i know anything else regards k

rite got the dvi converter for the external monitor hooked it all up started the d900t up. white screen again toggled f7 for image to come on on the external monitor nothing not even no signal then the lcd on d900t flashed a few times an went black but could still see backlight on at the bottom toggled again fn+f7 still no image came up all the time fans are working dvd roms spining fan on heatsink on video card kicks in still nothing so powered down an tryed again still the same anyone able to shed some expert light on my brain raking laptop?

Kudro,
it sounds like you have a bad card on your hands, cable is ok if it flashed onto monitor means monitor is getting signal. -
where can i get a new 1 from as iam not very well up on this type of laptop?
-
you can get a new videocard module from vendors like:
- www.rjtech.com (you need to contact them since it might not be on the site)
- www.eurocom.com (you need to contact them since it might not be on the site) -
rite just to let you guys know i have taken the d900t into planet micro for repair. i will be getting a call sometime tomorrow with the damage. also can i still use your expert advice as i mite be getting my hat nailed on when the call me with the cost to repair it, what would the cost be to buy a new mobo an video card an have it put into the lappy a rough estimate will do its just for comparison?
regards k -
rite planet micro have told me i need a new motherboard is the best place to get 1 ztronics? sum has made a balls ov the mobo so i believe.
-
I can get a quote for you factory direct if you like. My suggestion is you get that frst and then a vid card, as the vid card might be good if the mobo is fried there definitely wont be any signal so with a good mobo we can further troubleshoot. I would be glad to help you disassemble and re assemble if you need the help. PM me if you want to do this via skype or msn for speed. Was on holiday just got back.
