So I am in the Market for a new Desktop replacement. I was hoping to get something in the 15.6 range and was looking at Sager.

So far I've settled that this is the best brand for me, seeing as how I can get the 6990m in them pretty cheap right now which is exactly what I was looking for.

Any tips, codes, reps to talk to, sites to go to, or anything else you can give me before I go an order?

Thanks for any help or suggestions you can give me!

Hopefully I'll be a member of the Sager group here in the next month or so!

For threads to check out, I'd recommend these:

As for hardware, it depends on your usage. For gamers, something along the following is the best value and performance:

    2670QM
    6990m
    8GB RAM
    SSD or Hybrid drive
    HDD or optical secondary

The SSD or Hybrid is the best idea for the primary drive because of the performance boost over a standard HDD. Gaming isn't too hard on the CPU, so you can easily start at the base i7 and work up as needed.

Since you have more than enough posts, you can always PM retailers on the site to ask for pricing.

I was looking at exactly that build, though I was just going to move to an SSD later (Got a friend that owes me a bit, was gonna get him to buy me one :D)

What do you mean message them about pricing? Do members from NBR get special prices?

You bet you get special discounts as an NBR active member. Virtually all of the resellers here have it in their signatures.

Wow. That might actually be the straw that makes me do it. Who do I contact? The rep here on the forums for whom ever I buy through? How do I know which one to go through?

Little more complicated than building a desktop ;)

I would call, email or PM those resellers that interest you and after talking to them you will probably figure out with which one you feel most comfortable and confident.

http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...ler-info-read-before-posting.html#post7677633 - Some information about resellers and builders you can find here, although it's far from the complete list. There is also Gentech, LPC Digital, Origin, Pro-star and others. Contact at least the top 3 there, 2 of them already responded in this topic. Mythlogic provides some premium services and extensive testing at a higher price in comparison to the others, maybe that could also interest you. Then let the best man win! :)
