Hey guys/girls. I am not too good with configuring notebooks, especially if there are so many options to choose to from.

    My range is between 1500-1700.
I want the best best bang for the buck. I plan on ordering from - Reflex Notebook - Your Canadian Source for NoteBooks - Contact us

Do they do a price match with xoticpc? cause then i could get a better price :)

Anyways, my use is going to be playing WoW, school work, surfing the web.

I really want the best i can get for that price range. How would you build yours?

    awww what the hell.

Whats the difference between the 8150, and the 5160? is the 5160 a lower model? but it has a 540M nvidia card in it, isnt that better than the 8150's 460M card?

it looks like the 5160 would be a better buy... or is it? :S

Wow, nVidia did a good job about numbering.

    Actually no, its not better.

EDIT: Is that American $ or Canadian $? BTW, If you want to learn about your laptop then get a barebone and it will be cheaper to make too. Read the manual of the laptop first though if you go on that route so you have an idea on what you need to do.

Try to get some reading done, look around the owner's lounge for info, post your specs, and then we will be able to give you some feedback based on your proposed usage for this laptop.

Other than that, we can't do much for you..

    Hi Littleark94,

Yes we do price match on everything except the 5160 and 5170. When you take shipping into account it'll come to the same thing though.

The 460m card is more than enough to play WoW with.

All our prices are in CAN$ and the exchange rate is really good right now.

As far as Sager quality goes it's bar none one of the best. The Sager support team, retailers' support, and community support are all very good as well. Everyone is here to help and to answer any questions you may have.

Give us more info on what you want the laptop for and we'll all gladly help you in this thread on the best option to take.

Do you have any coupon codes or anything? do you do any special student discounts or birthday discounts? anything?

I want the laptop for just WoW, maybe the new star wars mmorpg, and surfing the web/typing documents.

Xoticpc does price match as well.
littleark94, in the price range you were suggesting, and that you were looking at an 8150, you should look into an 8150-S1. It is a special deal through Sager, and you might save a few dollars.
The newer 5160 and 5170 are cheaper, mostly because they are not big gaming machines. The 540m is roughly like the 425m, kind of a mid-grade GPU.

When do you think the AMD 6970 is coming out for XOTICPC models and any idea on the price? I think that might be the one thing I'm waiting for before ordering the 8150... After a bunch of deliberation over whether to get a 5160 + a desktop or just get the 8150, my wife weighed in that she does not want me putting a tower in our apartment, so I guess that decides it.

I'm pretty sure an 8150 with the i7 2720, hybrid 500gb drive, 8g ram and the 6970 should last me at least 3 years right?

The 6970m is still being tested, and does not yet have an ETA.

Speculations say March, and when it is available on Sager, it is available for all resellers as well.
