Hello there, so i have a Clevo p170 hm /Sager np8170 with a i7 2960xm processor, and recently (since the summer start actually) i've been having some fps issues which i think relate to overheating.
Anyway, i live in a REALLY hot part of Portugal (40º is standard here on the summer) so the cpu is geting to 99-100º C while playing regularly even with a cooling pad and fn 1 turned on.
I was thinking of trying to underclock it maybe, at least for the summer.
So basicly i was trying to find someone who could help me with the settings on Intel Extreme Utility, or even how to underclock it on the bios just so i can survive this summer :).

Wow that is indeed WAY too hot!

I would download ThrottleStop, it'll should clock the CPU down, without doing anything with the BIOS :) also download MSI Afterburner and make underclock maybe volt your GPU too

So you think this temperature is just too high even for how hot is it right now? think it might be a problem with hardware or somethign and i should contact the seller? It's just my CPU, my GPU is fine usually doesn't go past 70º and in iddle it stays at around 50º. BUt while playing starcraft 2 it gets to those 95/100º.. :-\
