    Hi,

My dog jumped on my keyboard and my backspace key came out.
It's a large key, with a metal hinge in the back. Metal hinge looks like this: I____I

It has straight sides, not with hooks at the end, like in the 900C.

I've fit the hinge through the metal loops on the keyboard, but the key will not snap onto the plastic structure that's on top of the keyboard (it's 2 plastic frames).

Is the key broken, or is there a special way of attaching the key to the keyboard?

    Please help.

You're most likely going to need a whole new keyboard, I dont think the individual keys can be replaced. Best way to get a new one is to contact your reseller about getting one.

You might need the keyboard replaced as Hutsady mentioned, but is there any way you can take a picture of the keyboard and attach an image for us to scrutinize?

    Hi,

Attached are images of the keyboard key location, and the back of the key (<--Backspace).

The keyboard has 2 silver loops to the side, farthest to the right and left. This is where the metal clip on the back of the key goes in. There is nothing that attaches the back of the key to the thingy on the keyboard. What I'm trying to say is that on some keyboards, all you do is press the top of the key to the keyboard, and it snaps into the keyboard thingy.

I've seen some videos of places that sell keys for the 901c, mine is a d900f, but I believe they use the same keyboard style. On the video, (almost same type of key design on bak, but not the same) it says to hook the silver clips to the loops, then press and the key should snap to the thingy on the keyboard.

I would find it odd that Sager would design a keyboard that requires the purchase of a new keyboard if any key snaps out or is broken, but the keyboard itself remains the same. Reason I, and many, bought Sagers is because of the easy of modification and parts replacement.

Thanks for any assistance with this. I think there has to be an easy way of snaping the key to the keyboard, which I haven't found out how to do it yet.

Hey abstravel, it does indeed look like the keyboard would need to replaced unless your reseller can find the piece you're missing - but you are missing a small piece that affixes the key. :(

    ProStar,

Thank you. I'll see if maybe a small piece got under the keyboard. I've been using the keyboard.
Maybe, i'll tilt the keyboard and see if something drops out.

Best of luck! Hopefully your dog didn't ingest it.
