Hey all,
Moore's law is bottle-necking my current lappy and I'm in the market for a new one...
I'm a computer engineering student at Bucknell and I'll be writing a LOT of programs on this lappy in Linux (hence the 16gb ram). But I also enjoy the occasional gaming (looking to play BF3 and MW3)...
I'm leaning towards mythlogic just because they say the test each system before shipping it. I'm sick of getting brick computers from Dell, and that assurance almost has me sold.
Other than that, is there anything else in this config I should add/remove?
SOMEONE SELL ME ON ONE OF THESE!
So I can't decide between the Malibal Lotus:

can't go wrong with either. Contact both and see which one gives u the better deal.
-
Both don't sell a Sager branded notebook, so both are good. Since you are Linux, I would go with the one who doesn't obligate me to buy a Windows license.
-
Was recently in search for a special part for my Notebook and contacted both.
They where both helpful, but Mythlogic was able to get me some tiny detail, where Malibal simply ignored the request. -
Malibal has a $100 Labor Day sale, you can pm them for detail. Malibal build you a new one if there's any problem with your order within 30 days which I think is as good as it gets. I purchased a 150 and 151 from them recently and very happy with their service.

Just to note on your configuration as well is the fact that you also get a free slappa laptop sleeve with strap.
I've been dealing with Mythlogic and things have been fantastic so far. They know the information, they are quick to respond, and are more than willing to work with you. Definitely shoot them an email and see what each vendor is willing to offer.
For myself, that sleeve is more than likely going to be quite helpful. I picked up a backpack, Alienware Orion, but I'm not sold on the velcro set up, but sticking it inside that sleeve inside the backpack should do the trick. -
I just ordered my laptop from MALIBAL and so far they were very helpful and had great responses.
-
I would get a longer warranty period. I wouldnt want to spend all that money on a laptop and have something expensive fail after that one year is up.

go with http://www.powernotebooks.com/) i really recommended them

The testing Mythlogic puts each built computer through and the precision to detail (especially to monitor dead/sub pixels even when you dont get the pixel perfect guarantee) make them my choice.
Not only that, their handle any kind of custom order. E.g. (I wanted no hard drives, a caddy AND and optical drive, AND an QS 2920xm) And they had no issues with it
Help me choose... Malibal vs Mythlogic
