As you all know, NBR currently has a Amazing Content Contest going on, with a chance for all voters to win a gift card!

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/roundup/641438-nbr-amazing-content-contest.html

I'm advertising for the Folding@Home NBR Team, which is basically home computing for folding proteins and sending information back for research at Stanford Med. I joined the team thinking that my powerhouses can be put to a good use when I'm not using it, and it has served me great so far.

We noticed that the toughbook forum rallied the members to participate in the poll, but I still feel that the Folding team could use your help!

If you could help us and vote for the Amazing Content for both the folding team and for you, I can't do much but I will rep you ;) My measly rep won't be of much help but it would be great if anyone interested in Folding@Home or appreciating what the team is doing representing NBR, we could use your vote!

In case you are interested in Folding, this is the thread:

Thanks! (And if you don't feel like posting here, shoot me a PM and I can rep you from there!)

I was quite surprised to see the toughbook thread in high ranks...even the eGPU thread i mean what does that say about Notebookreview...nothing?

I think seeing the Folding@Home thread winning would be a statement that we are more than geeks, gamers and benchers and actually use our equipment to do good in this world! :)

Thanks Prema, mostly Alienwares are folding,

but Sager/Clevo folk also have the raw power that could be put to very good use.

Common, guys! When we don't game, we could use resources for a good cause and represent the NBR forums! :D

Very nice contest. All of the nominees are great threads. But I hope the Folding Team wins; you guys seem to do very interesting work with your systems. Folding have never really crossed my mind in the pc world, but it does sound interesting. I voted for the Folding Team btw :) and it seems to be in 2nd place. Only a bit further.
