Hi, rencently my 3,5 year old hp laptop had a display issue and I gonna buy a new notebook and I'm considering a sager NP5796.
I'll put a 9800 GTX 1GB, 4GB DDR3, 4GB ITM, BR Drive, WUXGA Display, Vista x64, 500GB, and the CPU I'm thinking in a X9100 but I read around the forum that a new cpu, a qx9300 it's better, also read about that one would not ber supported by this laptop chasis, because of the cpu socket, it's that right?
And what's your opinion about this manufacturer and this specs?

    Best Regards

    TGAMARQUES

The manuf. and specs. are awesome for this system. Top end in every way.

No support for the QX9300 not because its physically incompatible, but because of a few other reasons. Some claim mobo revision would be required for it to work, others swear it would only take a BIOS revision. Hard to say. When it does come out though, I'll be in line to get it. [

Would also recommend the 320GB 7200rpm drive over the 500GB 5400rpm drive.

What are you going to do with the laptop? Are your configuration choices driven by laptop gaming or something else?

Other thing that's concerning me is the battery, I don't travel a lot just for using in minimum internet searchs and view emails when I'm outside without a plug to connect it. Yours in power saving mode how much does it lasts?
In searching for a combination of qx9300 and a 9800 gtx, there's any laptop using it?
I recently checked eurocom web and see that was available a montebello version (I think) using this combination, but I read that maybe was a eurocom's mistake or error, because like you said it's not compatible yet without any changes or a new hardware.

    Thanks for your answer

I would use the laptop as a desktop replacement, I'll use it majorly for gaming, use it to programming not to much and to do renderings with 3d cad software and photoshop.
So I need a powerful gpu and cpu.
Portability it's not an issue, If I move it more than 10 times outside would be too much.

Perhaps you want to look at the 9262. Up to a 3ghz Quad and SLi.

If the focus is a desktop replacement and you won't move it much, I would go with the 9262 a desktop quadcore. I own two and we use them for systems integration work. I move my machines between special "RAM" Brand mounts at least twice a day.

I don't usually reset to minimum power draw, but 60-90 minutes of light use is about what I see.
