Hello, fellow friendly gaming experts. Need some help with my new rig. Finally pulled the trigger on the 8658 after months of self tormenting. This is my first new rig in over 7 years and thought i new what i was doing, but i have some configuration questions that i need help with.
As you can see from my device manager pic attached i think i have just about everything configured correctly. On to the questions! Possible noob questions, but like i said, haven't had a new rig in a looong time and have several.
1. Blue functions keys work: volume, brightness, airplane mode, etc., but the graphic that pops up when you change something that tells you what level you are at does not. (volume level, airplane mode on/off, etc.) Do i need to reinstall something to get those to come up? What drivers are those?
2. The fingerprint scanner drivers are working, but the fingerprint scanner does not work. ?
3. What the hell is up with all those bluetooth devices under network? Do i need all of those? Can you only use the killer card or do you need the rest? I got the killer card as i thought that would just be the default card to game with and use?
4. My Sound blaster X-Fi MB5 isn't showing up in device manager? although when i run the SB app it says it is working? shouldn't i be using this instead of the HD audio and such? isn't the SB a better sound card?
5. The bluetooth device not found is the Raptor headset that came free with my rig. Not sure how to get that configured?
6. I have a Crucial 16GB RAM upgrade to install. Thoughts on keeping the 8GB samsung RAM in there as well or should i take it out and just roll with the 16GB? i know mixing RAM is not the best idea, at least it didn't used to be 7 years ago. ;-)
Thanks in advance for all the help...you guys and gals are awesome.
Happy Gaming!

Congrats on the new system!
Do you have any notifications turned on in the settings? Have you tried updating teh control panel utility either off of Sager or Clevo's site?

For the fingerprint software, you might need to download the driver from Clevo's site on that one.
Try and right click them and see if you can install them using drivers from the internet? Are you connected to all of those items at all?
Might be worth downloading the driver for the soundblaster as well. It usually gives more options for controlling the sound compared to the default windows sound options.
Going to make an assumption and say you got the computer from us (because of the headset...). You should be able to charge it up, then press in the logo on the right ear bud, and it should put it in discovery model. Then you should be able to turn on bluetooth and pair it in the bluetooth settings. Instructions should be included with the packaging of the headset though.
Yeah, mixing ram isn't a great idea, but you could try it out and see if it works. The ram will match the slowest speeds and latency basically. But if you don't need more than 16gb, then it might not really be any benefit of putting it in there.
Hope that helps. Enjoy the new computer! -
