I come to you again, brothers (and sisters), with a new problem. One that my manufacturer will not reply to me about for reason unknown.

I must always appologize if this has been addressed in another thread. My searching skills are not professional however I failed to find an answer to this particularly annoying problem.

On the LED display we all are familiar with the camera, WiFi, 2-hexadecimal characters, clock, battery...wait go back one...hexadecimal?

This appeared about a week ago while I was using the system and I have no idea where it came from. Background is, I've had this notebook since the M570u came out and it has worked like a charm. It has the latest bios and the keyboard bios flashes that allow you to turn off the touchpad. Well it was while turning off said touchpad that this appeared. I hit Fn+F1 and these 2 hex characters appear on the LED. Using Fn+F2 I can cycle through everything from 00-40 in 1 unit increments but in hex. The Fn+F12 key also has a strange function, it makes these 2 characters show the temperature of the CPU! And lastly the Fn+F10 combo turns off the camera completely! The only other key that seems to affect this is the Fn+ESC which seems to reset the values to 00. Now the annoying thing is that I cannot turn off the touchpad! And any of you with meaty paws like mine know that your palms constantly activate it while typing.

So my plea, dear brothers (and sisters), is how the heck do I get outa this LED diagnostic mode! That's what I'm affectionately calling it as i can get all sorts of strange number combinations using Fn+F1 and Fn+F2.

    Any help is appreciated.

P.s. the cooling mods I made back in October to silence the small center fan are still working great! Zalman notbook cooler rocks!
