So I have a brand new in box drive sitting on my desk waiting on Malibal Lotus to arrive. Do I return it?
0x00000f4 error on M4 64GB - Crucial Community
This looks like a big problem...

Mine still works great on my desktop, however I just recently bought it, so that's worrisome to me.
If you are concerned, RMA your M4 and get Newegg.com - SAMSUNG 830 Series MZ-7PC064D/AM 2.5" 64GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) Desktop Upgrade Kit, it's also a high quality product with Marvel controller. -
From reading that thread and one other (can't find the link), it looks as if Crucial is on the problem, but have been mum on what the problem may be. Also, it appears right now to be limited to drives from 6 months ago.
I have no doubt it will be fixed, but it is a matter of *when*. And we don't yet know if it was something for drives manufactured 6 mos ago, or it takes 6 months for the problem to show. For peace of mind (and not having to wait for a fix), you may want to return it and go with an Intel 510 or Samsung 830 for a new machine arriving any day.
Just my $0.02. -
Just ordered the Samsung from Amzn and printed out return for M4.... AND my shipping confirmation from Malibal just came. Oh lawd!

The last page of that thread has a post from a Crucial rep, which says they have a firmware fix releasing on the 16th of January.

whew... glad i still check these forums...

And here I have a fresh M4 sitting on my desk that arrived yesterday.
All the same, I suspect Crucial will be on this. The M4 is the product that got them a lot of good grace during the Sandforce fiasco, and it would be nothing but gain for them in the end to not be OCZ and actually tackle a problem with their product in an intelligent, respectable and ultimately effective matter.
Hey Now! About that Crucial M4... it fails after 5200 hrs (~216 days @ 24/hr day)
