If I run on the battery I hear a high-pitched sound coming from my laptop.
It cuts in and out and its kind of annoying.
It seems to cut out when the computer does something (open a progrm etc...)

    Any idea?

that seems strange, has this been happening since you got it? or it has started recently?

do u have an external soundcard hooked to it when this occurs?

Off-topic: what happened to your Magus avatar? I like Chrono Trigger more. :)

Yes I have my transit card hooked up to my computer.
It's happened since I got it as far as I remember.

Thanks for the link Airman but it didn't work for me. =(

Well I've used the Magus avatar for years on many forums. I figured it was time for a change! I can't wait for the movie 300 (as you can tell by the avatar now)! I think it's awesome!

it might be the m-audio software/driver/settings causing that.

i have had that happen to me while working on a desktop with M-Audio Firewire Phantom Soundcard. i remember disabling(muting) the mic-in/line-in to prevent this.
OR disabling/disconnecting the device when not using it would help that problem as well.

It only does it on the battery, if it was the M-Audio card wouldn't it always do it?

I'll have to have a look at it when I get back from work. Problem is I do use the mic-in line when I play some games.
Oh well no big deal. I don't run on the battery very often.
