That's a good question, but I would just trust him. There's nothing to lose. But my guess would be either a price drop or the availability of Core 2 Duos with 4MB L2 cache.

    Very subtle Donald ;).

I think it'd be worth waiting an extra few hours for whatever he has planned.

    That's an amazing deal.
    -17" WUXGA
    -Nvidia GeForce Go7900GTX 512MB
    -Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66GHz
    -512MB x1
    -40GB 5400RPM
    -DVD Burner
    -Wireless/Bluetooth

-$1,844 w/ cash discount. The NP5760 suddenly got a whole lot more tempting.

    No such thing.

The only upgrades to expect that I know of at this time are the new Meron T7xxx processors that will be coming in early October.

I know this is off topic.

Did anyone put their finger on what is causing the clicking noises when you hook up external speakers or headphones?

I plan on running my Pioneer DIR800C 5.1 Dolby Headphone (wireless IR btw ;) ) through the S/PDIF, but eventually I was planning on hooking up a nice 2.1 set up to round out the audio package.

I never heard any clicking noises... nor any background noise, for that matter. Maybe it's not common to all users?

I've read that it was a common problem for 5720 (or was it 5750) and people had reported the same problem with the 5760. They share a common chasis right?

Oh well. Sorry Donald. I'm done hijaking your thread.
