    Hi everyone,

I'm using Hotkey 6.0100 for Windows 7 and it shows the red icon in the system try. I cannot access my keyboard light app, nor do some of the function keys work.

    Can anyone help me?

I also can't access the app that controls the Power Plans.. It's really frustrating

sager has the same driver for the P150EM but you could try loading it again > Software Upgrade

    Just tried that, no change.

My keyboard is on the default blue light, but none of the function keys work. I can even see the Hotkey icon but it's red and I can't open it.

what was the last thing you done before it stopped working. loaded game, graphics driver update, windows update etc

you could always try a system restore to a couple of days ago. ive had to use this 3 times now when something didnt load properly. never had a issue before with previous clevo but if something stops working on the 150 a system restore seems to be the only option, for me anyway.

Ugh. I installed the latest Wifi Drivers from Intel.

I guess the system restore is my best option now. That's just really annoying because I can't use WiDi unless the drivers are up to date but it seems the current drivers bug HotKey.

Try rolling back to an older restore point, or attempt it in Safe Mode.

I found that I had problems with Hotkey when I had the Synaptics touchpad software installed. I uninstalled both from add/remove programs and then reinstalled Hotkey and it worked fine again. I use an external mouse mostly and the MS mouse driver on the touchpad works well enough. That was my experience anyway. Good luck.

Yeah, I'm sure it's an issue with Intel Wireless ProSet or something related to the wifi driver software. There doesn't seem to be a way to get them to play nicely together and unfortunately that means WiDi won't work.

From my research, HotKey is heavily dependent on the Windows Event Log service and anything disrupting it will disable HotKey. This was confirmed because using services.msc the Event Log would not start and gave error code 4201 with something about WMI permissions.

So I honestly don't know what caused it to start working again but here are the steps I tried:

I used msconfig to disable all non-windows boot services. Then I tried retinstalling HotKey. I also tried this in safe mode.

I created a boot disk and deleted RtBackup located in C:/Windows/System32/LogFiles/WMI.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but it seems to be working now.
