Some time ago I was cleaning my computer of unnecessary programs. When I was doing it, I most likely forgot what hotkey utility was from and deleted it along with other junk. Today I decided to update my drivers from Sager website, selected mine NP8662 and reinstalled it. The hotkey laptop icon shows up, but I can't click on it or change any settings, it seems unresponsive. I wonder whether I even need it installed and does it provide any benefits beyond power settings which I can change through Windows. What does it do exactly?

The utility just provides the power settings configuration and visual indicators for when you use the hotkey. The FN keys should still work even without the software installed/starting at boot. Do you still see on screen icons when you press and FN combo?

Yeah, I do see them, so it seems to work.

Edit: Downloaded a manual to figure out what's what.
