    I am getting the following error code that is closing hot key when windows opens. Can you suggestion any reasons why this might be and how to fix it? Do I need to update to the new bios and ec? Windows found all the drivers for windows 8 so I didn't need any off the sager website. I downloaded the new 8.00xx for hotkey but it still doesn't work.

    So I installed the windows 7 version, 6.00xx and then installed the windows 8 one. However, the windows 8 one needed the 6.0045 msi in the same folder for it to install. The install went through just fine and it no longer fails on start up, but now when i open it I get the following error from Microsoft frame work. I can open the command center by clicking continue but i have no access to the backlight options, the button isnt even there....

    See the end of this message for details on invoking
    just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
    To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
    application or computer (machine.config) must have the
    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
    The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>

    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
    rather than be handled by this dialog box.

    After a fresh EF I install of Windows 8 and basic driver installation I got hot keys working.

    Now it looks like hotkey is messed up from something with .net framework installing Microsoft office, outlook connector, iCloud, or iTunes.

    I uninstalled everything in reinstalled hot key. However I am having the same result where I cannot even open the program and it does not give an error code.

    I am going to try the reset button in Windows 8 to see if I can fix this issue without having to reinstall everything.

    Seems like office outlook 2007 connector messes up something in the .net framework and makes hotkeys completely in functional.

    Did you install TeamViewer or any VNC server? If so, make sure you don't install their monitor/video drivers.

    Nope. It was the connector for outlook that allowed me to sync my hotmail to the outlook 2007 mail client.

    I ended up downloading windows love essentials and now using that as my mail client and basic photo viewing. Actually it's a much better program then 2007 anyways.
