People have waited months to get their np8660s, because they just came out, but I don't know how the situation is now that they're out, and I'm not sure if there's a long line of people expecting theirs still. If I ordered mine today, through powernotebooks or xotic or sager, when could I expect it by? Do any of you forumers have outstanding orders placed recently that could give me an estimate?

    Hey there,
Yes rolled64, I also was wondering the same thing. I ordered my 8660 a while back though. I'll give you the dates:
Date Ordered: Thursday 31 July, 2008
Date of payment received: Aug 25 (I lost the cheque in the mail and had to do a wire transfer; that is why there is a months gap there :p)
So Phase 2 started on the 25th.

It is now the 31st. For me, I find it disheartening. I return to university in the next few days and was sure that I would be able to take it with me when I went. The bottom line is that I suppose that XoticPC might be backed up a little bit. It says the minimum time would be 3 days for building; the max being 7. So I guess that the first would be my magic day where I should start to worry.

To actually answer your question is rather difficult, not being of a reseller myself, but I can tell you that they are certainly not AHEAD of schedule per se or I would most likely be typing on the new machine presently...

I pre-ordered from Eurocom Aug 7. Mine was shipped Aug 26, will be here on tuesday September 2nd. Unfortunately 3 days of ground shipping was not fast enough to make it here on friday, so tuesday it should be here.

    Hope this helps.

As far as I know Sager doesn't have a backlog of NP8660 orders, but then again I don't have any NP8660 orders pending so I haven't been in direct contact regarding them. Their sales department opens at 7:30am PST tomorrow, so I'd say just call Sager and ask if the orders are backed up. That'll tell you if that's the company or the reseller right there.

Indeed livesoft, I wonder the same thing. I don't have to work on labor Day, but I certainly wouldn't mind if they did. If they were to do so I might receive mine on time for school.

Sorry, I forgot tomorrow was labor day :O I'll be working, at least :)

I'll call and see if they're there anyway. If not, then I'll try on Tuesday!

...I wish I had a VIP Sager hotline...

Turn around time on the 8660 is right around 3-7 business days from when payment is received presently for those who wanted to know.

    Sager is closed Labor Day.
