I'm using a Sager NP5160. The headphone socket has become loose, so the computer sometimes cannot detect that I have my headphones plugged in. At other times, only 1 side of the audio can be heard. My usb port on the right cannot transfer data anymore for some reason. Is it possible for me to dissasemble my Sager NP5160 and then replace those parts myself?
(My local reseller, SGCubeHub, has closed shop and attempted to run away. Thus I can't send my laptop to Sager for repair, unless I pay crazy fees, in which case I rather get a usb->audio adapter.)

If I were you, and if my laptop in in warranty , and the reseller attempted to not honor it, I'd take them to court.

Yeah, that model is only like a year old right? And yes, you can disassemble it yourself OP, but I'm not sure what the procedure would be to repair those ports

if i am not wrong he is currently staying in Singapore fyi mythlogic
but i do not understand, how can a headphone socket come loose? arent they soldered onto the mb? -
Yep, I'm staying in Singapore, so it probably wouldn't be worth it for me to ship my laptop over to the US (In fact, another reseller, illegear from Malaysia is now authorized to handle warranty issues from SGCubeHub, but customers have to pay a 460SGD shipping fee first).
Therefore, I'm hoping to find a dissasembly guide of sorts to fix it myself. Else I rather simply get a usb-to-3.5mm socket adapter.
BTW, it's a waste of money to sue, as I might as well just spend that money on a new laptop. Especially since the reseller has closed shop. -
seams like a simple case of bad connection. probably some broken parts.
all you need to do is to replace the usb and headphonejack ports.
it requires very little soldering. you can buy parts on ebay. it's very cheap.
